What We Do
The mission of AIL is to empower all Afghans by providing comprehensive, quality education, training and health services in order to foster self-reliance, critical thinking skills, community participation and economic independence thereby transforming lives and communities.
The Afghan Institute of Learning seeks to help the most needy in Afghan society both in the homeland and in refugee camps in Pakistan. We operate in three broad areas: education, health and training. Our founder, Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, realized that only healthy people can learn and improve their lives and that education is crucial to the development and the realization of potential in individuals and communities. Training good teachers is central to creating a high quality educational system and people need training in many areas such as: peace, elections, leadership and democracy so they can model and then rebuild the core values of a society based on respect for all and providing economic opportunity and care for all.
